Bat Tales Cafe & Restaurant Khaoyai sits at a quiet corner of Soi Nongkeetun 7, right opposite a well-known bat cave in Pak Chong District. This spot blends the laid-back vibe of a cafe with the fuller dining experience of a restaurant, making it a comfortable stop whether you’re after a strong coffee or a full meal amid nature.

The setting is spacious with ample indoor and outdoor seating tucked within a green garden compound, giving it a relaxed, lightly rustic feel. Visitors often come here in the late afternoon or early evening—not just for the food and drinks but to catch the daily spectacle of bats emerging from the nearby cave. The rhythm of the place shifts gently as the sun lowers, with the bat display starting around 6:25 pm and lasting about 20 minutes. This natural event draws a quiet crowd who linger on the patio, drinks in hand, watching millions of bats stream into the dusk sky.

The menu is diverse, balancing Asian, Thai, and Western dishes without feeling overwhelming. Options like truffle linguine, rack of lamb, and mixed berries pancakes sit comfortably alongside more familiar casual eats such as chicken wings with fries and Caesar salad. Guests who have dined here speak to well-prepared flavors and thoughtful presentation, with some highlighting standout dishes like green curry and fried pork belly with spicy sauce. Specialty coffee and a selection of refreshing drinks, including passion fruit soda and local beers, also feature prominently—a solid draw for both casual coffee breaks and shared meals.

Service feels friendly and approachable, with staff willing to share practical tips like the exact timing to see the bats—something appreciated by travelers and locals alike. The atmosphere blends peacefulness with a touch of wilderness, enhanced by the natural surroundings and a sense of seclusion at the end of the road. Beyond dining, there are also bungalows on site, suggesting a spot for those who want to extend their visit and fully soak in this niche corner of Khaoyai.

Bat Tales Cafe & Restaurant is well suited for visitors looking for a slow afternoon or early evening hangout with something memorable unfolding in the background. It appeals to nature lovers, couples celebrating special occasions, and anyone who enjoys combining a meal with a moment of local wildlife observation. Best times to come are late afternoon onward, when the light softens and the bat activity begins, giving the space a quietly magical atmosphere that feels very specific to this part of Pak Chong.

It is located right opposite the bat cave. Wonderful cafe with huge compound, lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a menu with wide range of drinks and dishes. We weren’t too hungry so just had snack. Staff was really frenly. Informed us when the bats will exit the cave. Bats were out at about 6.25pm, millions of them, and lasts about 20 mins We had a passion fruit soda, Singa beer and fried calamari.

I celebrated my wedding anniversay here. All foods are good. They also served specialty coffee. The service is great. Can see the bats from bat cape in the evening (can check the timing with the restaurant). The atmostphere and garden is also good for photo.

Very peaceful location, literally at the end of the road. The facility is very impressive. There are bungalows available for accommodation too. The food was tasty and well prepared.

Though the attraction only lasted for a little while, it was definitely a very unique experience watching the bats leave their cave in a chaotic yet organised stream. The cafe itself was beautiful and I couldn't help but see myself living in a house like this. This was one of the highlights of my trip to KY.

Eagerly waiting until the hotel will open in January. The restaurant, open since 1,5 months is grandiose. A super balanced menu card with either Western, Asian or Thai dishes. We chose for the fried belly pork which was fantastic, certainly with the spicy sauce. The green curry with beef was outstanding so were the mixed vegetables in Soya sauce. Together with drinks we paid just over 900 Baht. Oh yeah and than there is the utterly amazing "Bat show": every evening millions of bats leaving their cave... spectaculair. The setting of the restaurant in the lush garden is top too

A fantastic dining experience in a beautiful setting! The restaurant is surrounded by natural beauty, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose your preferred atmosphere. We had the Thai food, which was excellent—flavorful, fresh, and well-priced. They also have a good selection of Western options like pizza, pasta, and steak for those looking for something different. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food in a scenic location! Will definitely be back.

Beyond expectations! It was our first time here, we went their for dinner and we love everything here from the nice beautiful garden surrounded by big wood and bat caves, cozy big cafe/restaurant that is beautifully and also pet-friendly! Moreover their food is delicious! Normally we don’t expect much if they both have local Thai and international menus, we tried both and it was fresh and well-made. Pizza is thin like homemade but delicious, Thai food is also great with authentic taste, even their dessert like pancakes, but they made all well, and the service is extraordinary. We could even see the bats from restaurants window, we did enjoy our dinner here and talking about going back when we visit KhaoYai!

Located exactly at the khao yai bat cave. Very good spot for bat watching. Location is very far but it is worth the drive. Be there before 5:30 pm or else you will miss the bat emergence. You can sit and wait at the Bat Tales Cafe.
